This is a 3/8 inch thick heavy-duty L-type bunk bracket measuring 8 inches in height and constructed of galvanized steel. The bracket measures 5 inches wide and 8 inches tall, and is commonly referred to as a Float On or L type bunk bracket. The mounting holes are spaced out 3 inches apart, so you can use a 1/2" diameter U Bolt to install these to a 3" wide Crossmember. For example, if you were mounting this 8 inch L Shape Bunk bracket to a 3 inch by 3 inch cross-member, you would need to use a Galvanized U-Bolt measuring 1/2 inch x 3 inch x 4 5/16 inch. You will use these bunk brackets in pairs, where a bracket will be placed on either side of your carpeted bunk board and secured together with a through bolt through the bunk bracket holes and the bunk board itself. A boat trailer will typically have 4 of these brackets per board, but you may see 6 per board on larger, higher capacity setups.

You may need to replace your hardware if you are re-doing your bunk brackets so you will want to purchase the correct size 1/2" x 3 1/16" Width Galvanized Trailer U-Bolts for your cross members, and the correct size 1/2" Trailer Bolts to use as through-bolts to secure the two brackets and bunk board. These galvanized heavy-duty bunk brackets are a sturdy, corrosion-resistant component that is great for boats of all sizes!
