When installing this stainless steel sleeve into the rubber bushing, you can add lubrication to the outside of the sleeve, but it would not be recommended to lubricate the outside of the Rubber Bushing. The Rubber Bushing is intended to remain in place, and the caliper's movement happens within the Guide Bolts and Sleeve.
The inside of the Rubber Bushing or the Outside of the Metal Sleeve can be lubricated with silicone-based grease, which is how you'll find them straight from the manufacturer when purchasing a new caliper. It's not recommended to use any other type of grease for this reason.
