This part will allow your trailer to stop if it is disconnected from your truck in an emergency situation. The assembly is a direct replacement for the Model 60 drum or disc brake surge brake actuator, and bolts directly onto the surge brake unit. This includes the safety chain, mounting plate, and hook clasp. It is common over time for this component to either splinter or corrode.
