This is a great disc brake set manufactured by Kodiak. This is one of their 5 Lug 3,500lb capacity integral disc brake kits. This particular brake kit has Dacromet coated hubs / rotors and brackets but is paired with their Stainless Steel calipers. This is Kodiaks part # 2/HRCM-10-DAC-SS. This kit is designed to fit on 3,500lb capacity axles using the standard 4 bolt brake flange. This is Kodiak’s Integral set which means the hub and rotor are cast together as one piece. This means that the hub and rotor are machined together which minimizes rotor run out and provides a smoother ride. The hub is a 5 on 4 ½” bolt pattern. This trailer disc brake kit will fit with 13” or larger wheels.
This kit includes (2) Dacromet coated 10” vented hub and vented rotors that are cast as one piece. The vented rotors help dissipate heat quickly. Also included are (2) Dacromet coated caliper mounting brackets. The calipers are 100% STAINLESS STEEL inside and out except for the brass fittings where your brake lines run in. The brake pads are made of ceramic so that they will not rust and have STAINLESS STEEL BACKING PLATES. The calipers ride on (4) Stainless Steel caliper mounting bolts. An installation and instruction kit is also provided.
Comes With the Following Bearings and Seals for your 3500lb Axle:
Inner Bearing 1 3/8 " (68149) and Outer Bearing 1 1/16" (44649) and
appropriate UHI 1.72" grease seal.
We think this kit is the best bang for your buck. The most important part of any disc brake kit is the calipers. In this case the calipers are made of stainless steel and will provide many years of trouble free service. The parts that are easily replaceable such as the hub/rotor and mounting brackets are Dacromet coated to help keep costs down.
Kodiak offers a 3 year warranty on all of their Dacromet coated parts, a 6 year warranty on the Stainless Steel calipers and a Lifetime warranty on the ceramic brake pads that the calipers use.
