This set of versatile galvanized steel tandem axle leaf spring sliders is the ideal option to upgrade or repair your tandem axle boat trailer's suspension system. This pair of corrosion resistant spring sliders are specifically designed for boat trailers, but are compatible with cargo trailers, utility trailers, and other types of trailers as well. The improved double-bracket system conveniently accommodates either 20-inch or 25 1/4-inch double-eye leaf springs, you would just use the outer brackets for 25 1/4-inch springs or the inner brackets for 20-inch springs. The spring hanger brackets are compatible with standard 1 3/4-inch wide springs of just about any weight capacity that is needed. This slider set uses the Galvanized Equalizer Bar 7 3/4 inch EQ-E1 Rocker Bar for Boat Trailers whether you are using 20 inch or 25 inch springs for your suspension setup.

Important Mounting Info:

You will want to keep in mind that if you are replacing spring hangers on your trailer that were previously welded or bolted directly onto the trailer frame that your spring spacing can change when you are switching to a spring slider bracket style suspension mount. For example, if you previously had welded on spring hanger brackets with a 70 inch spring center spacing, using the spring slider could move your spring center spacing out a bit. This is especially important if you are reusing your axle or using an axle with pre-welded spring seats or drilled holes for spring mounting, as you would not be able to safely adjust the spring center spacing on your axle and correctly install your axle to the leaf springs on the trailer frame. We've included a diagram below to illustrate how the spring center spacing can change when switching a trailer's old spring hangers over to a slider design.

Spring slider kits like these are great for repairing your trailer's leaf spring suspension setup, whether you are replacing another slider system or removing rusty old brackets that were previously welded or bolted onto your trailer's frame. The slider is designed so that whether you are mounting 20 inch or 25 1/4 inch leaf springs, they will be more or less centered under the pre-welded galvanized fender brackets. The brackets are 9 1/2 inches wide and have a 59 1/2 inch inside spacing between the front and rear brackets. You will most commonly see this slider paired with 60 to 63 inch long single axle fenders (if you are mounting a larger fender you would just bolt it on the bracket slightly above the bottom of the fender). These Galvanized Boat Trailer Fender Tandem Axle 9 in x 60 in x 12 in or Aluminum Diamond Plate Boat Trailer Fender Tandem Axle 9 in x 60 in x 15 in for example are both great fits if you are looking for a metal fender, and this Plastic Boat Trailer Fender Tandem Axle 9 1/2 in x 61 in x 15 in is the perfect option if you wanted to use a corrosion proof plastic fender. We have a variety of other Tandem Axle Boat Trailer Fenders that you can browse through to see what works best for your trailer. Trailer fenders will generally be bolted onto the slider's fender brackets using 3/8 inch Stainless Steel Bolts.

Install Using One of Two Methods:

Boat Trailer Bolts - Using 1/2" Diameter Through Bolts is most common on I Beam Trailer frames. You will drill a hole through the Slider, and your Aluminum Frame, and using (2) to (3) Bolts per slider, mount to your trailer Frame. ( So 2 to 3 Holes per side)

Boat Trailer U-Bolts and U Bolt Mounting Plates- Using 1/2" Diameter U Bolts is common on Square Tubing Frames, C Channel Frames, and even smaller I Beam Frames as it does not require drilling. The Key here is to use (2) U Bolts and (2) Plates per side that have matching widths to work with each other. You will select the Width of U Bolt that will not only be wide enough to go around your frame, but also accommodate the width of the Spring Slider.
Example: A 2" x 3" Rectangular Tubing Frame could use a 3 inch Wide U Bolt and Matching Shackle. As the U Bolt is wider, you would set the U Bolt and Shackle at an angle, securing each side against the frame, and tighten it down.
In the above example, the Length of the U Bolt could be 4 5/16" to accommodate the height of the Frame, thickness of the Spring Slider, and Thickness of the Spring Shackle.

Mounting Hardware for this assembly is available separately, as not all trailers will be the same.

We've got a ton of photos in the listing above to demonstrate the variety of spring mounting options as well as the dimensions of these spring sliders. These are a great option if you are doing a full tandem trailer axle rebuild and want to have your trailer rebuilt from the suspension hangers down. This pair of galvanized tandem sliders are a great corrosion-resistant and easy-to-use suspension replacement option; allowing you to easily mount 20 inch or 25 1/4 inch leaf springs for your tandem axle trailer.
