The trailer adapter allows a 4 Flat to be converted to a 6 Pin. With this connector, if you have a 4 Flat coming from your trailer, and your vehicle accepts a 6 pin, you can plug your trailer end (4 Flat) into the adapter, then plug the 6 Pin end of the adapter into your vehicles (6 pin) accepting end. This adapter is for connections not requiring the use of trailer brakes.
